Like a novice athlete exhausting all his energy in the first few minutes, Zinda (inspired by the 2003 Korean flick Oldboy) starts off on a brisk note but then loses momentum and stumbles badly.



Balajeet Roy (Sanjay Dutt) seems to have everything going for him. A nice job as a software programmer, a pretty wife Nisha Roy (Celina Jaitley) and a house by the ocean in Bangkok. One fine day Bala is taken captive and thrown into a bleak cell in Bangkok. He has no idea why.<br />


After 14 years in that stark grey cell, he is suddenly released and given four days to find out the reason.



As Bala goes around trying to find the monster behind his long imprisonment, he comes across an Indian cab driver Jenny Singh (Lara Dutta), who gets dragged into his bloody quest for truth and revenge.



As he goes around spilling blood all round and pulling off the teeth of bad guys, Bala discovers a dark secret from his past that has brought about all this misery.



In his role of the businessman Rohit Chopra responsible for Bala's incarceration and misery, John Abraham is all right but cannot match up to Sanjay Dutt's performance.



What drags down this film into the average category is the story, which starts to unravel after the first 45 minutes or so.



Overall, the photography of Zinda is excellent. Kudos to director of photography Sanjay F.Gupta.



The love-making scene of Jenny and Bala lacks passion. Is this all the passion that Bollywood can summon in a bedroom scene?



The stunt scenes are so badly done as to defy belief. Isn't there anyone in Bangkok who can fight?



As the software programmer held captive for 14 years on a diet of fried wontons, Sanjay Dutt delivers a fine performance.

Yeh Hai Jalwa oozes mediocrity wholly and completely.



This silly movie suffers from several maladies including a bad script, lackluster music and obvious lack of chemistry between the hero and heroine.



Raju (Salman Khan) comes to London after learning that R.P.Mittal (Rishi Kapoor), the father whom he never knew and who he thought was long dead, is still alive and a big businessman in UK.



However, R.P. Mittal is not overjoyed to see Raju since his arrival disturbs the rhythm of his well settled life with a loving wife (Rati Agnihotri) and two young children.



Amisha Patel plays the role of Sonia, Raju's lady love, but the busty lady fails to impress.



Rishi Kapoor is fine as the stressed-out father, fearful of being exposed.

Yaadon Ki Baarat is that grand drama every Bollywood director wants to make.



Time cannot dull the appeal of this Bollywood classic. More than three decades after its release, Yaadon Ki Baaarat is that rare Bollywood film that still resonates very well with viewers.



A fast-paced movie with a tight script, great songs and fine acting by the lead players, Yaadon Ki Baaraat was a big hit with the audience.



More than anything else, what adds to the extraordinary appeal of Yaadon Ki Baraat is the excellent music by R.D.Burman. Virtually, every song in the film is a treat for the ears. Chura Liya Hai, Lekhar Hum Deewana Dil, O Mera Soni and the title song Yaadon Ki Baraat are all sheer magic. Neetu Singh looks chubby and sweet in Lekhar Hum Deewana Dil while Zeenat Aman is a feast for the eyes in Chura Liya Hai and O Mera Soni.



Three brothers Shankar (Dharmendra), Ratan (Tariq) and Vijay (Vijay Arora) are separated in their childhood after their parents are murdered because their father witnessed a crime committed by Shakal (Ajit).



Shankar grows up as a petty criminal, Ratan becomes a singer at a hotel while Vijay, who is taken in by a kind hearted manager of a large household, becomes a ladies man.



How the brothers are finally united and avenge the death of their parents accounts for the rest of the film.



The final fight scene on the make-shift runway was downright ridiculous with the three brothers taking on virtually an army of bad guys and still coming out on top.



While Dharmendra, Zeenat Aman and Neetu Singh went on to become big Bollywood stars, Vijay Arora and Tariq never hit the big time. ... More ... Collapse

Yet another mediocre movie from Bollywood, Yaadein provides ample evidence that Subhash Ghai is becoming a has-been coasting on his past reputation.



Tragedy strikes London-based Raj Singh Puri (Jackie Shroff) when his wife (Rati Agnihotri) dies unexpectedly leaving him with three teenage daughters. Before dying, his wife gets him to promise that he will treat their daughters like friends.



The rest of the movie is a stupid account of how Raj Singh navigates the difficulties of life with three teenagers, particularly their love affairs and marriages.



Kareena Kapoor impresses as Isha, one of Raj Singh's daughters, while her beau Hrithik Roshan seems overdramatic most of the time.
