Very romantic, and though it sinks into melodrama every now and again, for the most part it was enjoyable. Bhagyashree plays Suman, the simple and innocent daughter of a modest village teacher, and Salman is Prem, the son of a wealthy industrialist. Suman and Prem's fathers (Karan and Kishen respectively) were close friends many years ago, and now Suman is sent to stay for some time at Kishen's huge mansion, because her father is off to Dubai. During this time Suman and Prem fall in love, but because of the difference in status Kishen opposes their love. Ultimately, however, friendship and love, the themes of the movie, triumph. Many people could be seen wearing Friendship caps, as worn by Suman in the movie - and this was long before movie memarobillia was even heard of in India. The movie was a blockbuster, and is worth a watch.
