This was the movie that made actress Madhuri Dixit a household name, and bolstered the career of Anil Kapoor. The film was directed by N. Chandra. Music is by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The song ek do teen was a chart topper.The film is largely an Indianized version from the 1984 film Streets of Fire.
