Dhoom is an interesting and fast paced movie by Bollywood standards.

The novel story is of course the highpoint of this movie featuring one of Bollywood's mediocre actors - Abhishek Bachchan.

Fortunately for the audience, director Sanjay Gadhvi has managed to coax an above average performance from Abhishek Bachchan in Dhoom.

Abhishek plays a police officer Jai Dixit on the heels of a gang that commits robberies on highways and gets away quickly on high-powered fast bikes.

The leader of the biker-robber gang is John Abraham. When they are not pulling off big heists, the biker-robbers work as waiters in a pizza restaurant.

John Abraham does a decent job as the cool cat leader of the biker gang.

Uday Chopra is Ali, a bike mechanic and fence of fast bikes who is forced to assist Jai in nabbing the biker gang. Uday Chopra doesn't have the typical good actor looks but is not a bad performer in front of the cameras.

As Jai's wife Sweety, Rimmi Sen does not have much of a role except to display her physical assets. In fact, the movie opens with a shot of the young lady painting a room dressed in very skimpy attire. Just in case her skimpy attire was not enough to titillate the audience, director Sanjay Gadhvi then drenches her with a water hose so that we can see more of the lissome beauty's blouse-filling assets.

Esha Deol reminds us of Macbeth's witches. With neither acting skills nor stunning looks, Esha Deol's only claim to fame is a pair of illustrious parents in Hema Malini and Dharmendra. In their heyday, Hema and Dharmendra were a treat to watch. Esha is sheer torture to endure.

The bike and stunt scenes in Dhoom are of course a big highlight of Dhoom. They are all right but pale besides 25-year-old Hollywood movies like Mad Max (1979).

The music in Dhoom does not rise to extraordinary heights but is definitely not bad either. We liked Dhoom Dhoom, Dilbara and Salaame best of all.

Dhoom is a heist movie, with John playing the bad guy and Abhishek playing the cop. Uday Chopra was great in this movie. His role was the funniest and most endearing. Slick movie, great stunts, and lots of great songs, dance and action. Worth a watch for sure, for pure entertainment value. ... Collapse

Watching this movie makes anyone want to form a bikers gang and speed on the roads of Mumbai city. Story was orignal and Uday Chopra did really well in this film. Esha Doel has finally come of age and has broken away from the image of being Garam Dharam's baby daughter. This movie has an added bonus of the awesome title song.
